Bachelor’s of Science Degree-University of Wisconsin, Madison Val was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois. In following her dreams of becoming a lawyer, she attended the University of Wisconsin, where she was a Political Science major. After graduation, her legal ambitions shifted to the world of advertising, landing an assistant media buyer position at one of Chicago’s top advertising agencies. After pursuing her career in San Francisco and New York, she then ultimately moved to the Los Angeles area with her husband. They decided to start a family, where Valerie ended up taking a few years to focus on being a mother. When Val returned to work, she initially accepted a position with Homer Ice Cream as Vice President of West Coast Sales. At the same time, she was fascinated with the world of real state. After obtaining her license in 2005, Valerie began her career in earnest with Prudential California Realty (now operating as Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices), in its Calabasas location, a real estate franchise owned by business tycoon Warren Buffet. Living in Calabasas since 1999, Valerie specializes mainly in the West San Fernando Valley, including Calabasas, Hidden Hills, West Hills and Woodland Hills.

From the time she began forging relationships that would lay the foundations for her future successes; she never regretted her decision to pursue real estate as a career. She remembers her fi rst listing being referred to her by a friend. Valerie says, “She believed in me when I fi rst started and referred me to several clients.” Her clients are an equal mix of buyers and sellers ranging from good friends to celebrities. “Everyone gets the same attention from me whether they’re buying or selling a $300 thousand dollar home or a $10 million dollar home.” Valerie loves being one of the best at what she does, her achievements bring her pride and a sense of accomplishment. Her personal involvement has provided her with a constant stream of referral business. “They deserve 100% of my attention,” she says simply.

Valerie has made it her career goal to be able to provide quality service, efficiency and personal attention for each and every customer that she has the privilege to serve. She always puts herself in her clients’ shoes first, always focusing on the customer. She loves helping buyers & sellers from the beginning of their process, and truly wants the best for her clients. She realizes that her clients are investing not only in homes, but in the quality of life that surrounds them. She strives to achieve standards that are the best in the business, including sales strategies, marketing strategies, and personalized service. She is consistently known for her integrity, ethical business practices, knowledge, and professionalism, with many satisfi ed-and repeat clients.

Berkshire Hathaway’s nationwide network of marketing partnerships, luxury brand and referral services has allowed Val to stay at the top of her game, thru additional educational and networking opportunities. Thru her hard work and dedication, Valerie earned the Luxury Property Specialist designation. In 2009, Valerie was ranked #2 out of 120 agents and awarded the Chairman’s Circle Gold, an award given to the top 2% of all Berkshire Hathaway agents nationwide. In the Calabasas offi ce, she is the #1 individual agent (non-team), and the #2 agent overall (including teams).

When not engaged in real estate activities, she volunteers in Calabasas, as well as in the surrounding communities. “I help organize an annual event to help the local animal shelter.” Val and her daughter have made it a yearly event to set up a lemonade stand, donating the proceeds to the Agoura Animal Shelter. Val donates to the Charitable Foundation with each transaction, some of the charities supported include several local Boys & Girls Clubs, the Calabasas Relay for Life, Children’s Hospitals, Elementary & Education commissions and Parks & Recreation facilities. She also contributes to “The Event”-a Las Virgenes School Fundraiser, Meals on Wheels, The Sunshine Kids Foundation, and the Annual Coastal Beach Cleanup with The Surfrider Foundation. She also sponsors the Calabasas High School Basketball teams, and generously supports Round Meadow Elementary School. Valerie plays tennis twice a week. She also belongs to a gourmet food and wine club in the neighborhood-you’ll often run into her on Saturday morning at the Calabasas Farmers Market. She is a strong supporter of many of Calabasas’ local shops, believing in the community and its smaller business owners.

Valerie will sometimes partner with other top agents in the Calabasas Berkshire Hathaway offi ce. She has had the opportunity to work with area experts such as Kay Fields, Lisa Weber, Ann Cohen, and Marc & Rory Shevin. This enables her to build strong relationships with fellow agents, as well as present the strongest team support for her clients, ensuring the clients’ needs are always put fi rst.

Val is a member of The National Association of Realtors, The California Association of Realtors, The Southland Regional Association of Realtors and The Santa Barbara Associaton of Realtors. She currently holds a State of California Real Estate License.
